The former Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces, Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama has been promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral on his retirement. The President of Fiji and Commander in Chief of the Republic of the Fiji Military Forces Ratu Epeli Nailatiku made the announcement in a statement this afternoon. The statement recognizes both the 39 years of distinguished service by Rear Admiral Bainimarama in the RFMF and his contribution to the nation. He is also thanked for his service and is wished well in civilian life.
