The front row of the so called Unity March in Paris is one of the most pathetic scenes I have seen for years. The heads of state or government of Israel, the Palestinian territories, Turkey, Jordan, the Ukraine and others are all there - their governments beings champions of tolerance and the free press, of course! These governments have never persecuted, jailed, tortured or killed journalists, of course. The heads of state of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Iran, Syria, Russia, Belarus, China, North Korea and dozens of others are sorely missed. They could have all shared their respective governments rich experiences in this domain with those leading the march in Paris! Hypocritical, to say the least... I wonder how the assassinated cartoonists would have made fun of this irony.
