The frustrating part is that those who support term limits cannot come up with a valid reason for doing so, and for ignoring the fact that the best term limits are those imposed by an informed citizenry who go to the polls every election day and either says job well done, keep it up or get the h**l out! The real results of term limits is a government run by the unelected bureaucrats, legislative staffers who move from one elected representative to another, and lobbyists. And dont forget the extraordinary influence from a 24/7 media news cycle. So heres my solution for Michigan: 1. A truly part-time legislature (not just one that works part time for full time salaries like the one we have now). 2. Elimination of the lame-duck session. Just like nothing good ever happens after 11 pm, so nothing good ever happens in a lame-duck session. 3. Elimination of term limits.
