The future of video games: A procedurally generated world, a sandbox start, a cinematic event that shoves the protagonist into a harsh reality, forcing him to flee everything he has ever built and known, making friends with fellow adventurers, dodging your pursuers while searching for clues, huge structures and cities, thousands of truly autonomous citizens, a clever plan (working with a complex AI) to get past a carefully guarded wall and interrogate a highly placed official, the plan fails and you are imprisoned, but make a daring escape through the streets of the huge prison complex, you manange to wiggle out through the chains of the fence, dodging spears and grasping hands, all alone again with your friends waiting on the other side of the great wall, you wander near starvation for days, through dynamically created landscapes and villages, searching for a way back over the wall, one day you discover a tall, thin tower jutting from a hill, and climb it, your vantage point shows you not only a breach in the wall where a river runs through it but also a small farm with the sign "Tote House" where a few friendly looking characters (in my dream, they were totally the guys from Dragon Ball) go about their business - could their friendship be the key to toppling the evil empire and restoring your tiny kingdom? Can you reunite with your friends on the other side of the wall to continue your journey? Will you ever see your family again? What monsters, villains, castles and armies will stand in your way? Play this game (coming 2030ish) to find out: the first truly alive procedurally created game-world featuring an evolving genre system that dynamically adapts to the tasks set before you. Oh, and also: permadeath.
