The game played by elected representative with our faith & loyalty and respect to seniority is ..... Or price of our fear ; greed of self advancement at cost of fraternity ; self centeredness ; cowardliness. Almighty ; with acute shortage of resources; almost nil support from grieved bankers and their owners. We did our work like prayers. We have promised to fight till last breath and we r on it . After UFBU announced its decision of various types of strikes starting with one day strike on 7th January, a reasonable question peeped into the minds of every one why one day strike again? 2 days Strike in February was followed by one day Strike on 12th November and then relay strike in first week of December. Now why again one day Strike on 7th, is it a fresh beginning? Why not start of the new year with indefinite strike ? These strikes are part of well planned game and strategy which were decided between a top leader and UFBU during the course of first negotiation meeting when IBA produced and handed over consolidated balance sheet along with data of actual pension cost in implementing pension settlement of 27.04.2010 and argued to bear incremental cost in the ratio of 30:70 or else accept 5% increase after deducting incremental cost of Pension. The clever mind of top leader which had delayed the 9th BPS after calculating the proposed increase with period to arrive at the time by which arrears would be sufficient to recover 2.8 times of the revised salary of November 2012, again got involved in calculation with IBA. Then calculations were made as to how many days strike would be necessary to recover the incremental cost of Pension. Thus, these strikes are being done to recover the incremental cost of pension and this would get recovered through deduction of salaries on account of Strike at the end of 4 days Strike on 24th January. Reliable sources say that Settlement would be signed in March. The clever mind exerted pressure by issuing a circular not for its members but for office bearers, bank wise unions and state federations and cleverly brought it notice to all. In this circular, annoyance had been shown towards four officers unions for announcing agitational programmes. It was also mentioned that IBA is intending to seek fresh mandate from member banks. This was well planned pressure tactics designed in connivance with IBA. As per plan today, IBA made it clear before CLC that for increasing the offer from 11%, it will have to take fresh mandate from member banks. With a view to create further pressure on unions, this leader issued notice for convening meeting on 19-20 December at Mumbai. There was no logical or reasonable point to convene meeting after meeting of the UFBU on 17th to decide further course of action. Ultimately the leader has again succeeded and this action plan of various strikes was taken.
