The gang went to the Genocide Memorial this afternoon. Seemed strangely fitting because it has been storming and pouring all day. It should be stormy for every visit to the Memorial. Douglas and I staid back to meet with Mydear and Peter to go over wedding stuff and to talk to Afrancina ~our house girl from when we lived here. If you have been in my kitchen you may have noticed her picture on our refrigerator. She has fallen on hard times so we wanted to know what we could do. She needed a job so Doug shot a few texts around to people we know here and within minutes we got a response. So Afrancina meets a woman tomorrow who needs help in her home. Very productive meeting. Now to help the rest process the horrors of learning about genocide when they return. The Memorial is not an easy thing to go through in Rwanda. But I feel everyone needs to out of respect and to never forget so that we take a vested interest in stopping genocide if it springs up again anywhere in the world.
