The gem of the Yo Kuku! operation is the abattoir. The 15,000Sqft processing facility is the first highly mechanised abattoir in Uganda, and the largest chicken processing facility in East Africa. Automation shortens the production time dramatically which translates as a better end price for the customer. Temperature controlled processes vein through the abattoir and the distribution chain until the chicken reaches the end customer. Our Abattoir has received a host of local and International certifications: - STAR (Supplier Tracking and Recognition) which is a rigorous, industry-recognised audit system that sets and monitors standards of suppliers of KFC the global food franchise. Yo Kuku! supplies chicken to all the KFC branches in Uganda. - Halal; all slaughter is carried out by a muslim brother, facing Mecca - Uganda National Bureau of Standards S-Mark - Food Safety Systems Certification(FSSC22000) which is the highest global standard when it comes to food safety and is recognized by Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). With these certifications, Yo Kuku! chicken is nothing less than world class. Our systems have been tried, tested and found sufficient to maintain production of customer safe, healthy and tasty chicken consistently.
