The global wave of terrorism is giving me a serious concern. The BH in Nigeria that is now stuck to us like a leech sucking the blood of innocent people everyday, the recent attack in France, the attacks in Kenya etc. The Al-Qaeda, ISIL, Al-Shabab and the host of other gruops terrorizing the whole world and giving Islam a bad name. Our religious leaders in Islam have works to do particularly on youngsters in their congregations. They need to start teaching love instead of hate, they need to dwel more on those things that unite us as humanity rather than those things that separate us. They need to stop those myth that have no basis in Islam like the myth of marrying 70 virgins in the hereafter by killing innocent people. They need to stop propagating falsehood for their own gains and start teaching the truth of Islam. My plea also go to various political leaders worldwide, let there be equal opportunities, give people a sense of hope and a sense of belonging. Let the youths know that they have futures. Most of these extremists are youths who believe they have no stake in the world, they believe their futures are opaque and it holds nothing for them. We need to direct their paths to better and more fruitful endeavors. Extremism is a function of wrong religious teachings and lack of opportunities, its high time we STOP it so that it doesnt consume us.
