The goal of true Christian living is not life, liberty and happiness but denial of self and resistance to the spirit of the world. We must get to a place where nothing in the world draws us in and makes us inwardly happy. We must see that the world and its materialism will never satisfy or bring full contentment. It will bring you stress, simply because you can’t win the race to keep up with the Joneses. There is always a new frontrunner, but you can’t win it.
