The good news is that it looks like Elianes Mom, Luzia, will be coming for a visit very soon. She is getting her passport done, and applying for a visa to come as soon as possible! She hasnt come until now because she has a fear of flying, but she said that she is just going to have to confront it, and come and be with her baby! Eliane was overjoyed to hear this news, and cant wait to see her Mommy! its been 8 years since shes seen her, and Dona Luzia has never been to the states or even out of Brazil her whole life. Eliane remained stable in the hospital today, and is being closely observed, getting vitals every two hours, etc. She didnt see the GI today, but he may come by tomorrow. Her new diet constists of eggs over easy, potato wedges (with the skin peeled off) roasted chicken, and popsicles. She cant have any fiber or too much sugar. She stopped eating white bread because it just turns into sugar immediately. We are learning more and more every day. Im just glad she can hold food down now, although it gets rough at night when it starts to hit her colon. Again, lots of details that I wont go into, but all in all, it was a good day.
