The government being very busy erasing every pledge/lie from the internet causes me to think that they know they have gone through a short but sharp period of awakening to the fact that the public at large are aware of their spiel and are challenging them for the truth. They are hurriedly trying to cover their tracks, hiding statements that they now know will bring them down. This proves beyond any shadow of a doubt that they are not to be trusted, that nothing is safe, their pledge of the NHS being safe in their hands was an outright lie, just like the vases, and transparency is a mere word they flaunted in the lead up to the election. In order to dismantle the NHS faster than they originally intended Cameron and co have run with the mob, the mob has made it easier for them to damn every hospital in the country….they have lied about Stafford and drip fed the media with help from the few…………how many more hospitals have been damned by lies? There is big money to be made by all of them and those who help them along the way, patients come very close to the bottom of their self- serving priorities. Rather than give correct funding and support to good local hospitals they are squandering tax payer’s money bolstering up larger hospitals to the detriment of rural patients. The so called super hospitals are heavily in debt yet there are foolhardy plans to build and extend them to enable them to “cope” with patients from smaller hospitals. We keep hearing the words “cope”, “we think”………those words are not very convincing to the parents of sick children…..with the lives of children and pregnant women at stake there can be no room for ifs and buts, think and cope! Keogh’s blue print for a two tier A&E system is as risky as his mortality figures…the “golden hour” will be lost to those stroke patients living outside the larger towns where of the super centres. Keogh states there will be “40 to 70” super A&Es……an exact number would be preferable given the misuse of numbers! An enhanced 111 will diagnose and prescribe…….Will 111 be manned by medical professionals rather than a teenager fresh from school? Will there be translators? How will stroke patients with minimum speech and people with learning difficulties access information from 111? Its unknown territory and very risky! Paramedics to take on a bigger roll……..paramedics to treat more patients at home/in the ambulance. Will ambulances be equipped well enough for every eventuality if so at what cost? If patient deaths in ambulances rise who will be accountable, do paramedics get paid enough and are there enough of them to act as mobile hospitals? Surely smaller local hospitals will suffer even further with even less funding as larger and larger amounts are poured into super centres? Every hospital in the country is suffering staff shortages, UHNS alone has let 400 nurses to go and has had to set up payday loans to pay remaining staff so where are all the extra staff for the super centres? Imported Phillipino nurses to be recruited, will they be cheaper to hire than the nurses who have had their jobs axed? It’s all very much a slap in the face with a wet cod!
