The government feedback unit REACH has received close to 39,000 responses on its different platforms in the first 10 months of the year. It said Singaporeans were most concerned about retirement adequacy, with the topic receiving 2,500 responses. REACH said many welcomed the announcements made during the National Day Rally. These included the increased flexibility for CPF withdrawals and providing more support to the elderly through the Silver Support Scheme. Sharing the results at the REACH Contributors Forum was Communications and Information Minister Yaacob Ibrahim. The forum was attended by around 120 REACH contributors, including some pioneers. Next year, we will be celebrating our 50th year of independence. Indeed we have come far as a nation, thanks to the hard work of (all of) you. Everyone plays an important role in writing the next chapter of our Singapore story. So where we go from here and how we get there will indeed depend on how each of us contributes in our own way, Dr Yaacob said. Amy Khor, Senior Minister of State for Health and Manpower, and chairman of REACH, said: Our challenges for the next 50 years may be very different from what we encountered in our first 50. For us to thrive, both citizens and the Government have to listen to each other and work even closer together.
