The government of Abia state recently received the accolade that it was about commencing a massive reconstruction of the roads in Aba. The news got us smiling but yesterday, while driving through most of the roads, I saw the massive fraud going on in Aba. The government used machines and perforated the parts of the roads that they intend to fix. In doing that, they damaged some good parts of the road constructed by Dee Sam Mbakwe, and for the past three months, left many creters and holes on the road. If Theodore Orji had known that he was not ready to work on the roads, why damaging the ones done by past successful governors? Why leaving big holes on the roads? In some of the roads he pretended to have fixed, he removed the old tar and dumped raw granite on them which some of the granite has been washed away by the rain. The others fixed with tars has started damaging within one month of fixing. Why not bring out substantial sum of money and construct a standard road that would last than spending billions pretending to patch roads which are often washed away by the rain within weeks. Abia state has never had it so bad.
