The government of Sierra Leone has finally made a comment on the issue surrounding the container of anti-Ebola medical supplies that we brought into the country to help contain the exploding Ebola epidemic. A government spokesman told Radio Democracy in Freetown this morning that government appreciates our independent effort to assist in the fight against the Ebola epidemic. Abdulai Bayraytay from the Ministry of Information and Communication distanced President Ernest Koroma from the ongoing efforts by Sylvia Olayinka Blyden (Ms) and gang to besmirch our contribution to the country in a time of crisis. On a separate note, we will be launching a global fundraising campaign in the United Kingdom next week to generate resources to facilitate the transportation of much needed medical supplies into Sierra Leone and other parts of West Africa to help contain the Ebola epidemic. I want to assure that, regardless of ongoing attacks against us by a few evil-minded Sierra Leoneans led by Sylvia Blyden, we will not be discouraged in carrying out our assistance programs into needy communities in the region. I will also like to urge all those with resources, skills, expertise and connections outside of Sierra Leone to immediately put them in motion to help in the effort to fight against the Ebola epidemic. The war against Ebola should be a global fight and we must do all we can to mobilize global opinion in favor of the war on Ebola in West Africa.
