The government should listen to voices of the people protesting against the blanket amnesty bill in order to rapidly bring an end to the rallies, Sumeth Suthat Na Ayutthaya, chairman of the Thailand Incentive and Convention Association (TICA), said on Tuesday. He said protests had already eroded the country’s image and could affect tourism during this high season. If the rallies turn violent, it would affect all tourist travel, particularly people in the meeting, incentive, convention and exhibition (MICE) sector, said Mr Sumeth. If this tourist group cancel plans to visit Thailand it could cost the MICE market as much as 30 billion baht in the short-term, he said.
