The gratitude challenge has not been forgotten Melissa McDonald. Here goes... 1. Keith Erwin, Shaker, Mackinac, Kilkenny & Mabel...my pack, my full heart. 2. My healthy mom, brother, partner, nephews, sister-in-law, cousins, sister, & my Erwin in-laws. 3. Our very small home, filled with our colorful life, in my favorite blended Urbana neighborhood. The fact that I can clean it in 45 minutes flat is my reminder that bigger is not better. #smallhousemovement 4. Sleep...it comes so easily. 5. Jean. I lost track of the # of years. My toolbox keeps expanding, and the art of marriage, relationships, & communication is always being tuned. 6. Rita, my wings and a prayer. 7. My health, abilities & mobility. 8. The reminders to slow down... 9. 18 years in Housing and those that shape me from WKU, to Millikin, and Illinois. 10. My Housing Technology Team...they let me think of myself as a StarRez whiz (to my face) and I give them t-shirts to show my appreciation. 11. Tricia Wolfe Anton, Melissa McDonald, Murillo Soranso, January Boten, & Jason McKean...AC/AD Team. Our secret is letting leadership rotate among us, except when we are all talking at the same time because Trish thinks she is right. 12. TJ Maxx when i need a fix. 13. Burrito night with my homemade salsa and sourcream. 14. UofI RDs...omg. 15. Jim Rooney and Alma Sealine...thoughtful leaders. 16. My Res Life AD brothers and sisters...literally, some days we love & admire one another and other days its like what the? But everyday there is laughter, and support. 17. Keiths creativity and that he is a do-er...always creating something beautiful on our itty bitty piece of the earth. 18. Stacey...perseverance and love for our kiddos. 19. Morgan...our groomer. Mama tells them, You be sweet to Morgan...you feel better after we go see Morgan! 20. A childhood that allowed me to wander in the woods, struggle, take risks, see pain, learn how to build a fire, mow the lawn, plant, cook, travel, feel love, swim, try, fail, recover, cry, bet on the Derby, do chores, have a Hilly, Marcia, Linda, & Butchy nearby & so much more. 21. My freedoms & willingness to examine: my perspective & that of others, privilege, racism, social justice, systemic power, & the opportunity I have to break cycles when & where I can.
