The great Fried Oatmeal adventure...End Game. Good morning - TopicsExpress

The great Fried Oatmeal adventure...End Game. Good morning folks, hope youre in the mood for breakfast.... We begin once again with a poorly lit non-stick skillet pre-heating. Again, it takes me a minute to remember that my camera has a flash. I have an electric stove, so its on 7, I have no idea what the gas equivalent would be. Our oatmeal is cold and set....cut it into whatever shape you want. Should come right out of the dish with minimal effort. You can even use cookie cutters to make it fun for the kids. In the pic below, Ive just hacked mine into four rough and approximately shaped pieces. Once the skillet is hot, you can use butter if you want, but I tend to use a combination of margarine and walnut oil, about 1 tbsp. Gives the finished product extra flavour. Fry on both sides until golden brown, flipping a few times to make sure its toasty. Drain on paper towel for a few minutes, then serve. I was too lazy to go shopping, so Ive simply served this with maple syrup, strawberries and some micro basil. Yum. But heres where you can feel free to get creative. Possible other additions: Whatever fruit you have to hand - Peaches or other berries, bananas, etc. Toppings: Whipped cream, greek yoghurt, ice cream, etc. Garnish: Fresh mint, basil or chocolate (syrup, chips, whatever you want.) OK, so hope the pics help you in your quest...I tried to keep this as simple as possible, but dont hesitate to ask follow up questions. This also goes really well with a side of bangers, but Ill leave the pork-related decisions to you.....
