The great Samoan orator and resistance leader Namulaulu Lauaki Mamoe used fiery and persuasive oratory to stir up the patriotism of our people in early 1900s and started a political movement to free Samoa of colonial oppression. So effective was Lauaki in transforming ordinary men into fearless warriors that the German Governor George Schultz is reported to have said Give me six Lauakis and I can conquer the world. The controversial anthropologist Margaret Mead put it this way Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world ... Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.
