The greatest Big Game I attended was the walkoff touchdown from Vince Ferragamo to Steve Sweeney in 1972 to beat Rose Bowl-bound Stanford. The scenario was perfect and I was sitting in the end zone where it happened at Memorial Stadium after time ran out. We ran onto the field and Sweeney used my Flair pen to sign my program on the Chevy Vega ad on the back cover. The Cal Marching Band played Trying to Keep the Customer Satisfied by Simon and Garfunkel. Life was good.
