The greatest threat to Planet Earth is us. Humanity is a threat to itself and the planet because of some biases that were hard-wired into our brains by evolution. The technical knowledge necessary to correct our cognitive biases is becoming increasingly more available to us via cognitive neuroscience but we generally continue to ignore the whole problem of unconscious bias. Even if we are worried about our future we tend to place our attention and our blame on other people or things.
