The greens have a right wing ideology, in that its based on the thinking of Malthus , all about resources being outstripped by population . That thinking from Malthus in the C19th brought us eugenics and the Poor Law - and we are almost back there now. The left is all about increasing resources, destruction of poverty and wealth for all, but the greens are not about that at all, so their claims to being on the left are based on very false premises. Marx condemned Malthus. He would condemn the greens too. Sylvia Pankhurst summed up socialism as follows: ‘[It] means plenty for all. We do not preach a gospel of want and scarcity, but of abundance… We do not call for limitation of births, for penurious thrift, and self-denial. We call for a great production that will supply all, and more than all the people can consume.’ Far from being left-wing in anything like that sense, today’s greens and those who claim to be ‘on the left’ call for the exact opposite of what Pankhurst and the rest of the early to mid-twentieth century left were demanding. Modern Greens and eco-leftists do preach a gospel of scarcity. They do call for a limitation on births, always insisting that the world is overpopulated by resource-sucking humans. The greens also behave like the tories, using the same lies and propaganda techniques , they direct their negative campaigning towards labour and not the tories
