The greeting from the lips of a stranger holds a bond greater than the mountains. A secret utterance and a friendly face, the angels descend from a blessed place. «Peace and blessings upon you my beloved friend.» Lend me your hand and lend me your voice, let us shake hands till our sins drop off. Oh sister shall we compete in the salam? The first to initiate is free from pride so let me, allow me first to offer my regards. Oh brother pass not by the youth who sits in ignorance, offer him the salam and invite him to the masjid- and if he rejects he is to blame but worry not of yourself, you have fufilled your duty, you spread the very thing the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said. Oh followers of the sunnah, greet your brother with a cheery face and turn towards him fully lest you be disgraced. Do not withdraw your hands until he pulls back and when you depart may Allah forgive each and every sin that fell on your back. Oh blessed are the strangers who offer you salam, who pass by you on the streets, peace upon their lips and love in their hearts- surely you will not enter Jannah until you love one another and loving one another is offering the greeting.
