The group has arrive in Chaing Mai! Greetings from Chaing Mai, We arrived in the city yesterday after a long and refreshing train ride. Everyone got to catch up on sleep and enjoy the Thai countryside as we made the trek from Bangkok. We met up with the 3rd group leader, Alex, who has spent the better part of 8 years living in Thailand, particularly Chaing Mai. The students seem to be in great spirits, it has been wonderful to watch them all become absorbed into this beautiful place and culture. This group is especially motivated to get out there and practice Thai language, meet new people and learn from their surroundings: exactly what we hope for! We will stay in Chaing Mai for the next two nights before heading to Mae Sot on Sunday mid-morning. We will spend one night in this ethnically diverse city situated directly across the border with Burma, before following the border north towards the Karen village, No Boh. The students and staff are all eager to arrive in the village and get to work on the service projects in a more rural part of Thailand. If any of you are interested to learn more about the NGO that we will be working with (and have been for many years) you can visit their website bget.org Hope you are all doing well and please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns as I will be checking my email on a regular basis. Take Care and Be Well, Claire
