The growth and development within The Domain continues and we are pleased to share the following updates with you! As always, please reach out with questions. Development: Today, Nordstrom announced plans to open a full-line store at The Domain in Austin, Texas. The two level, approximately 123,000 square-foot store is scheduled to open in fall 2016 and will be the companys second full-line store serving the greater Austin area. Nordstrom will be located in Phase III of the Domain, on the east side of Aloft hotel. Nordstrom currently operates three stores in the Austin area including a full-line store at Barton Creek Square and a Nordstrom Rack at Gateway Center and at Sunset Valley. Shake Shack, the acclaimed modern day “roadside” burger stand, has announced that it will open at The Domain in early 2015. Shake Shack features favorites such as 100% all-natural Angus beef burgers, flat-top dogs, hand-cut fries, fresh made frozen custard, craft beer and wine, and much more. In keeping with Shake Shack’s mission to Stand For Something Good, the restaurant will be constructed with recycled and sustainable materials and feature energy efficient kitchen equipment and lighting. Chairs and booths will be made from lumber certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, and tabletops will be handcrafted from reclaimed bowling alley lanes. Shake Shack will be located between Punch Bowl Social and Dicks Sporting Goods, across Domain Drive from The Westin. We are also pleased to announce that the highly anticipated Punch Bowl Social, a bold new bar, restaurant and gaming parlor, has begun construction at the corner of Esparanza and Domain Drive. PBS will feature eight bowling lanes, darts, pingpong, foosball, Trivial Pursuit (and other board games), marbles tables, pinball and arcade games, billiards and shuffleboard. PBS will pin its mark on The Domain this summer. Renovation: The Domain II Enhancement Project has begun and is expected to be 100% complete by September of 2014. The multi-million dollar renovation will serve to increase customer amenities and services and will add more green space, allow for more community programming and bring new interactive outdoor elements to the center. Highlights of the project include the creation of a great lawn covered by an iconic shade structure. The unique green space and shade structure will span from Domain Drive to iPic Theaters, encompassing nearly 10,000 square feet. The dynamic lawn component of the project will be specifically designed for live music, community festivals, markets and holiday activities, creating another common area for gathering of customers and residents.
