The guns of Marvel retooled the five page They Met on Mars for MONSTERS ON THE PROWL #24 , making a SHIELD vs (the evil organistion of) Hydra story out of it. It first appeared here in STRANGE TALES #84... Two beings in grotesque space suits fight on Mars. One of them destroys the others ship and escapes, with the two never knowing that they were both humans: one from the US, one from the then dreaded USSR. Ditko, in monster mode, draws the symbolic story with characteristic aplomb.
