The happiness of life is made up of minute fractions—the little soon-forgotten charities of a kiss, a smile, a kind look, a heartfelt compliment in the disguise of a playful raillery, and the countless other infinitesimal of pleasurable thought and genial feeling. - Samuel Taylor Coleridge The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. - Psalms 33:5 I am sometimes asked if I am always so calm and cheerful. For the most part, yes, but not always. On Monday, a friend passed away after struggling with cancer for almost two years. It makes me sad to think of the anguish his family and friends are going through, but it is bittersweet....he is at peace and suffers no more; the suffering is always for those who are left behind. I have a great appreciation for life, for friends and family, my faith, and the journey that Ive had thus far in life...and gratitude for all of it. Ive learned many lessons over the years, and have a deep understanding of what it is that I value. I am happy because of the journey, the lessons, the blessings........because of the gratitude and my faith. It really is that simple. So, today, remember the charities in the simple things...a smile, kindness, laughter, a hug, a child....whatever it is that reminds you that you are where you are supposed to be. Good morning - and have a wonderful Wednesday!
