The hardest part of my week as a Pastor is not studying the Scriptures or preparing messages for Sunday – it is the part that comes after. It is the Saturday look in the spiritual mirror. It is the honest acknowledgement that I so often fail to be the man of God that I should be. It is the truth that the wonder of God’s Holy Word could be passed by flawed, sinful and broken old pieces of clay. Yet, even the clay has value - because God made it - and from it God made man. Wise is the man or woman of God that knows their value is in His making, not in their profound ability to reflect His worth. Truthfully, my words are too small for my great God, and my life is too flawed to show His beautiful perfections – yet, like so many other teachers of the Word - I am His choice for the privilege and "tomorrow cometh quickly". Time to rest, pray and reflect on the good day ahead and the privilege of serving God by serving His people.
