The hardest thing I see when teaching is that students dont understand that they have to fail, and make mistakes in order to learn to play better. They think that somehow magically they will be great... or that they dont have what it takes to be good. When the fact of the matter is that if they will just allow themselves to fail and make mistakes or sound terrible without it affecting their self esteem... pretty soon-with more playing, you will begin to see results. This is a life rule, not just a piano rule. So with that, here is my trumpet practice riff for today. I want you to see that its not magic.
