The harmonica teacher JP Allen (harmonica) has been using - TopicsExpress

The harmonica teacher JP Allen (harmonica) has been using unauthorized photos, copyrighted names and creating fake profiles of nonexistent women and men to spam and advertise his instructional courses all over the web recently. I warned him twice already before blocking him from two FB harmonica groups and he has continued none the less. This has been going on for quite a while but most recently he has illegally used photos of Gregoire Maret and others without consent. Winslow Yerxas copyrighted title Harmonica for Dummies from the dummies series has been misrepresented by JP and the publishers have been notified. JP Allen placed adds on the web using the title Harmonica for Dummies that were actually a direct link to his site: harmonica! Like I said: Mr. Allen has been warned, nicely, a few times (just by me) and ignores them entirely and simply continues reposting his adds that have already been flagged and discussed. I have never done anything like this before but I am asking now: if you are friends with JP Allen or any of his fake profiles, which include men and women, please consider this behavior. Our little harmonica community is still big enough for everyone to stay in their own lanes and this blatant disrespect, thievery, sleazy and deceptive form of advertising is putting a black mark on our otherwise spotless community. Almost all of of us legitimately and honestly work very hard, even giving away free merchandise, advice and videos and more to promote ourselves, businesses, brands and the harmonica in general. It can take years to make a name for an individual, artist, book, course or product and JP Allen is simply illegally attempting to profit by using our names (in all their forms) without even a simple request (one that would most likely be granted!). JP Allen and harmonica make it harder for all of us to stay afloat with these tactics. This harmonica community of ours and its leaders have in my lifetime always displayed a rich and wonderful respect for itself and others. We have all gotten along very well as we struggled to put food food on our tables and roofs over our heads. The core of this community has always been one with a very special, tight, unique and strong love for a little instrument that has changed so many of our lives. I HATE that I am writing this and like I said in my 20 plus years in the music business I have never publicized a public criticism of anyone before but I have asked JP Allen and his fake profiles nicely, been ignored and am now taking action, please do the same. Thank you -Jason Ricci
