The headline is a little misleading. This article points out something Ive always believed in. Unless you are a landlord, a home is a place to live, maybe to raise a family, most important to enjoy. No one likes to lose value on anything they own. But I look it this way, I have to live somewhere. If I pay off my house, then all I have to pay is taxes. If my home is payed off, Im living almost rent free for whatever number of years I keep the house. If I sell thats a further return, assuming the house can be sold for something.
