The heart is prone to getting attached to people, places, moments and memories. But the hearts greatest attachment is to Allaah. Every attachment other than Allaah tends to cause some form of grief or disappointment. Because attachments lead to expectations and expectations lead to disappointments. The people who enter our lives may make it seem as though they can fill the void within us, but really it can never be filled by any human being. The only being who can fill the void is Allaah. We spend so long trying to figure out whats causing the emptiness, we fail to realise that its right before us. It is our need for Allaah, our need for His comfort, our need for contentment. That is something which can solely be received from Him. Nobody is worthy of your heart, not the way Allaah is.♡♥
