The heart runs faster than the mind Raindrops run-down my face, as I smile up at the moon through a parting in the cloudy night sky, The moon shinning his light smilingly returning his smirk, dose the wise man of the moon know of my delight, love is felt on this first blind date, walking her to her front door gate, she asked me up for coffee but the good knight in me declined, l left her with a French kiss and a bottle of wine, it was then that I felt the rain on my face and my heart so bright, giving a rainbow of affection mixed in a kaleidoscope of zeal, my mind singing like love birds in their aviary, should I ring her as soon when I get in or should be that keen, would she think me to ardent, do I permit the heart to rule the mind, my mind wonting to Astor-plain to her heart, to see if our hearts and minds can entwine, She rings in the morning, saying do you mind if we don’t entwine can just be friends, by the way, thank you for that bottle of wine, I smile to myself realizing sometimes The heart runs faster than the mind, I smile up at the lonely man on the moon, we have a lot in kind, As a tear runs down my face into my toasting glass, I raise it to the moon, Saying cheers to the moon, Here is to the next heart beating date.
