The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. – Psalm 19:1-2 “Today, I pray to be in tune to Your voice. Amen.” “Well, this morning the sun burst forth in a blaze of white light that proved too beautiful to gaze upon. It gilt the edges of the thunder clouds that drifted above the horizon with such brilliance that Jim, our camera guy, actually began to weep—yep—there he goes, praise God! Sorry, folks. That’s all the film we have of sunrise today! We’ll be right back with an encouraging message from God that comes to us in—a rock depression filled with rainwater? Stay tuned!” Unfortunately, the full transcript if this newscast does not exist, neither in the archives of your local TV station, nor even in the memory of most Christians. Day after day we ignore the amazing Word that comes to us from God by way of His creation and wake instead to breathless accounts of affliction and sorrow, are regaled by stories that whip up our fears, or weighted down by in-depth analysis of issues that stoke the fires of resentment, hurt and the anger that divide us. But God has a different wake-up call for those who will seek Him. Regardless of how deeply self-focused we are as a human race, the truth is we exist in a world created lovingly by God, and at the root all our longings is a desire to know Him. We can begin to satisfy that longing by turning off the Peoplevision, and tuning in to God. Good morning, all! Please continue in prayer today for: Jessie, who is doing better but needs our prayers for strength. Ruth’s cousin, who is dealing with multiple challenges, for healing and comfort. The Achen Family, as they adjust to a new routine, and for sleep! All our SSP youth; in thanksgiving for their experiences in faith. Lisa, in thanksgiving for a productive trip to New York. Dan, Jim and Sal, for healing and strength. Debbie, for guidance and discernment
