Muralitharan reached 90 wkts the next year Warne set the record. # Most runs in one year in one day internationals is made by Sachin Tendulkar of India, collecting 1894 runs in year 1998 from 34 tests with 9 centuries and 7 fifties and best of 143. Most ODI wickets in a year has been taken by Saqlain Mushtaq of Pakistan = 69 wkts from 36 ODI in year 1997, with best figures of 5 for 38. Mushtaq had taken 65 wkts the year before which is second best effort while third best is by Shane Warne with 62 wkts in 1999.
