The hits keep coming for the Florida Gators as left tackle D.J. Humphries will miss two to four weeks after suffering a sprained MCL in his left knee, coach Will Muschamp said Wednesday. Humphries, a sophomore who had started the first six games of the season, suffered the injury during Mondays practice, Muschamp said during the SEC conference call. Muschamp said Humphries is a quick recovery guy and could be back in two weeks for the Gators (4-3). Tyler Moore, a transfer who has struggled this season, will move from right tackle to left for Saturdays game against Georgia. Trenton Brown, another transfer, will get his first collegiate start at right tackle. The Gators are looking for improvement on offense, especially along the line, as quarterback Tyler Murphy has been sacked 10 times in the past two games. In those games, Florida has managed just one touchdown and 391 total yards on offense. We need to protect better than we have, thats for sure, Muschamp said. Florida will have defensive end Ronald Powell, defensive tackle Damien Jacobs and linebacker Darrin Kitchens back Saturday. The Gators, who began the season ranked No. 10, have lost eight players to season-ending injuries.
