The holiday spirit is hitting police officers really hard this year as evidenced by their high number of random acts of kindness weve seen in the news lately. One officer in Alabama recently showed that he has a heart when he decided not to arrest a woman whom he caught shoplifting. But thats not all he did. Officer William Stacy was called to Dollar General store where 47-year-old Helen Johnson was caught trying to steal eggs. She explained that she only had $1.25 and was 50-cents short, so she hid five eggs in her pocket. She also told Officer Stacy that she did it because she cant afford to feed her family which consists of her daughter, two grandchildren and a niece. The officer decided to make a deal with her. He told her hed let her slide and buy her a dozen eggs if she promised to never shoplift again. She did and gave him a huge hug which was captured on another customers cell phone. Johnson was so touched by the officers gesture and said, This is God. God is speaking to me. Ive been through so much. I thought God had forgot about me.
