The house was full of very, very famous, and very, very rich - TopicsExpress

The house was full of very, very famous, and very, very rich people. I recognized them. I walked straight to the bathroom. I didn’t see anyone I knew when I walked in the door, as I got too nervous. It was an intimate gathering with sixty or so people there. I thought about how when we folks are surrounded by people of extremely high social influence, our tendency is to think about how we are not as successful, rich, powerful, accomplished and qualified. We get timid and insecure. We compare ourselves to them—like those stupid things matter or something. For me, I was out of my element to begin with. There was a dress code and I was in a suit. I felt my mind wanting to say things like, “These people are serious movers-and-shakers—watch what you say!” I could feel my hand tremble a bit while I was in the bathroom. I talked to myself in there. “Jake, it’s all about the presence you hold and the vibe your project!” I reminded myself of the things those are of real power—radiating the best energy you can. Being authentic in conversation and enthusiastic to be alive. I walked back out there and rocked every conversation. One lady walked up to me and asked who I was because she could just feel the energy I was putting out into the room. That made me think about how stupid credentials are. Who cares? They don’t make you powerful and positive. You’re not less than someone because they are more famous. They are a freaking person, just like you and me. They have nothing more special about them than you and me. While I contemplated this rapidly in my mind, I started talking to some guy. He turned out to be the founder of Vega Nutrition—the most successful plant based supplement product line in the world. When he told me who he was, I threw question after question at him. “If you had to summarize what’s made you this successful in one sentence, what would you say?” He told me that he never went to college, had never ran a business and knew nothing about anything related to marketing. He said credentials, degrees, and outer things like that are overlooked—that if you’re persistent enough and your first priority is to make a difference, then you can accomplish anything. I tossed him questions for twenty minutes about how he built such a successful business that’s in just about every health food store in North America. Surprisingly, I wasn’t surprised at all to learn how simple his foundations of success, wealth, and major positive influence in the world were. • Have a clear vision • Forget marketing rules about how they say to enter existing markets that sell. (His company was the first ever-major plant based health food supplement company without soy or whey). • Just do what you feel called to do, focus on making a difference. • Everyone you want to positively influence will recognize your realness and they will be the best marketers ever. • Remember that it’ll be extremely challenging, busy, and hard— so remember why you’re doing it. • If your primary intention in wanting to start what you’re doing is to make money, you’re better off not doing it. It’s amazing to me how much we count ourselves out on changing the world and reaching our dreams. You’re never going to be fully prepared and ready. You don’t need to have a bunch of money to get started. You don’t need the best business model. You don’t need to be the smartest and most intelligent person. You don’t have to have a college degree from a great school. You don’t need to have received good grades. You may question your intelligence. You may question if you’re good enough. You may think you can’t do what so-and-so does. The truth is that you can do whatever you put your heart to. Forget your mind. You are enough. You may not be like whomever your mind wants to compare you to. But you’re enough. You are where you are and you can go where you want to go. I am not blowing steam up your butt to get likes on Facebook or to sell you something. I am not exaggerating—you are good enough. You have greatness within you. You don’t need to be good to make a difference. You don’t need to be smart to make money doing what makes you happy. You already have it within you. You don’t need to go sit in meditation and find yourself. You are you. You are where you are. All you need to do is start. You don’t need a perfect plan. You don’t need a grandiose vision. You’re enough to life the good life, whatever that means to you. The question is: What do you want your life to look like? What do you want to do with your time?
