The hubris of Jonathan Gruber is just astounding. Im a little late commenting on this, but if you dont know about it, this is the MIT economist who helped compose the Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare). He gave multiple speeches and presentations in which he referred to the American public as too stupid to understand the economics of the bill. However, there were many, many people correctly identifying that the bill would cover all expenses incurred by insurance companies through passing the cost on to consumers. People like Alex Jones were called racist, bigot and extremist for telling the truth, and now after its law we see at least 3 instances (only 3 published recordings, who knows how many other times he said it) where Gruber is bragging about purposely confusing the public in order to get his way. The worst part, in my opinion, is the first clip in which he says that they purposely wrote the bill so that it could NOT be seen as a tax. And yet, that is what conservative supreme court justice Roberts wrote in his opinion when the ACA was upheld. He wrote that its legal because its a tax. Again, to me this is an example of how the conservatives in government are nothing more than establishmentarians who invested in upholding the authority of central government, NOT to protect individual liberties. youtu.be/Adrdmmh7bMo
