The human brain. We all have one. We can all agree that our brains play an important role in our lives ;) As I type this sentence the front part of my brain (known as the pre-frontal cortex) is enabling me to think and put my thoughts into words. As I re-read and smile at the opening statement of this article the parts of my brain involved in emotional reactions (known as the amygdalae) are becoming more active. All of these parts and many more work together and with the rest of my central nervous system allowing me to function as a regular human being. As you can tell, Im very interested in cognitive neuroscience - the study of the brain. The amount of fascinating information that has been discovered about the brain in recent decades is literally mind-blowing (pun intended). How can we use this information from cutting edge neuroscience to improve ourselves and our lives? In todays video I explore this topic further.
