The humans are a species estranged from their own basis. They see the dog attacking its own tail and think this hilarious. They scoff at the moth that follows the light in circles to its demise. But they do not understand that they observe themselves in these matters, and their ‘humorous’ perspective is evidence that they are, at least subconsciously, aware of this.
