The husband is called to be the head, a leader, provider, covering, an example to follow, as well as a protector. Even if the man isnt the primary bread winner. Ladies this still doesnt exempt you from Gods Divine order. He is still called to be the head and the leader. Now Im not saying that the man should do nothing and put all of the burden on the wife either. Proverbs 31 states she works with her hands and doesnt eat the bread of idleness. So obviously she provides too as well as manage the home. So just because you both work doesnt mean you can make your own rules apart from Gods. Study to show thyself approved. Some things need to be known before marriage. Especially if your going to do it Gods way. - Cory R. Buchanan (Titus 2:4-5) that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed. (1 Corinthians 11:3) But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God (Proverbs 31:13-16) She seeks wool and flax, And willingly works with her hands. She is like the merchant ships, She brings her food from afar. She also rises while it is yet night, And provides food for her household, And a portion for her maidservants. She considers a field and buys it; From her profits she plants a vineyard. (Proverbs 31:27-28) She watches over the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her: Be a blessing and not a curse. (Proverbs 21:19) Better to dwell in the wilderness, Than with a contentious and angry woman.
