The iPhone 6 Plus BENDS!!! (headbang) IT BENDS!!!!???? Unbox Therapy’s iPhone 6 Plus bend test: * youtu.be/znK652H6yQM and their Samsung Galaxy Note 3 bend test: * youtu.be/FwM4ypi3at0 confirm: the iPhone 6 Plus BENDS, Galaxy Note 3 does not. Here’s the most hilarious excerpts: “Today we’re gonna be doing the official iPhone 6 Plus bend test. (...) [I] saw a number of reports claiming the iPhone 6 Plus was bending inside of peoples pockets.” “Upon inspection I actually noticed tiny little indentation towards the center of the device, which kind of implies a little bit of a bend. Not much, nothing conclusive. But some of the images Ive seen from other people show a far more significant bend. And the claims are that people are just using it in their front pocket which normally wouldnt result in a bent aluminum phone. (...) So the sake of science today Im gonna bend this iPhone 6 Plus to see how much force it actually takes to make this thing unusable.” “So there you have it guys: unfortunate, but under the pressure of my hands it does bend quite significantly. Specifically around this portion here for where buttons were. My focus was more in the center portion but, it seems to be a weak point up here near the button cutouts. (...) Bottom line here is: it’s an aluminum phone, it is going to bend if you apply enough pressure like I just did.” “One more thing I want to mention about the [iPhone] 6 Plus: as I attempted to bend it back to its original form, it cracked in that location and it also cracked the glass on the screen. (...) So we ended up with a crack after all, so a little bit less usable than just a bend. So I don’t know what my recommendation is: if yours ends up bent, probably just leave it that way.” “I have a [Samsung Galaxy] Note 3 here which is a similar form factor and people just want to know ‘Is this bending something to be expected on any device size?’ (...) Is this unusual for a large device? Lets find out now using the [Galaxy] Note 3. Lets go.” “This is amazing! With the same or maybe more force this thing hasn’t bent at all! (...) I mean, it bent as I was doing it, it was creaking in making all kinds of crazy noises but ultimately no damage. Lets go ahead one more time here and try this again.” ”That is as hard as I can push! (...) And nothing. Oh, it’s a little warped. It’s a little bit warped. You can probably see that: it’s a tiny bit warped. But, wow, that device is completely functioning, that’s crazy! (...) So the Galaxy note 3 survives the exact same bend test that the iPhone 6 Plus failed. That I did not expect with a plastic build.”
