The idea of Thanksgiving almost always is more enjoyable and seductive than the actual event itself. I over-eat, get sick, worry about others, try to keep myself in check with certain relatives, am bored, want to go home and finally do just that. I have come to realize that making my work - painting, etc. is the only time I am totally lost and calm. I once wore a Blood Pressure Monitor for 24 hours and there was empirical evident as to the focusing/calming effect of immersing oneself in a world of paint and dreams. Oops forgot - films envelop me as well.
