The idea of a soul seems so incredibly immature to me. Its like believing in ghosts... I really dont understand people who cant grasp the fact that consciousness is a product of the process of millions of neurons communicating with one another and can be gradually destroyed and eliminated. Its a grayscale of millions of shades for each cell. Is each brain cell 1 millionth of your soul? No, of course not because people who believe in the nonsense of a soul believe something magical, unprovable, and of course perpetually impossible to measure is responsible for consciousness because they refuse to deal with the idea of the mortality of their existence. At what level of brain death does the soul move on? For the soul believer, this life is not enough, so one has to live for an afterlife or some kind of eternal consciousness. Its unbelievably weird to me that anyone with any sense of rationality still tries to explain things with magic. Magic has never been and never will be the final answer to any mystery of the universe. Consciousness is also not magic. I expect by the end of my life there will be artificially intelligent and quite conscious androids and cyborgs that will agree with me on this.
