The idea of a week plus-without my boys (Thulani T Smith being in Columbia and Nathanael being at Waycross Camp) before we go on an epic trip to South Africa seemed wise, and I think it has been. During the time I have: seen lots of clients, recovered from a minor surgery, tried to spend time with friends, taken some stuff to Goodwill, tried to clean the kitchen, written a few necessary documents for school, walked the dogs more than usual, eaten at my favorite breakfast, lunch, and dinner restaurants, and bemused on what a cranky retired person I will probably be one day. Nates home. Thulani is two days from home. Thulani will be a rarity in that at 16 years of age he will be on three continents in one week. I am deeply grateful to Shirley Williams who is handling our schedule in South Africa and in Swaziland and I am thrilled with the response we have had to our visit. Thank you. Rod
