The idea of tricking poor people will land Ntate Thabane in trouble one day sooner or later.He refused to stay in Hotel after assuming office in 2012 saying he don’t think it’s necessary to go and stay in a hotel at the expense of the people’s coffers. He said such a luxury would run contrary to his promises that his government will not be extravagant. My opinion is if he was genuine about saving Taxpayers Money, he should as well suspended the renovations of state house so that he lives in a dilapidated structure to save on taxpayers money. He played another trick after formation of ABC in 2006. He humbly requested Imperial to accept the car unconditionally despite having purchased it in the amount of plus/minus M4000. Imperial refused to accept the car. Thabane then approached the government, but its secretary(at that time), Tlohang Sekhamane, refused to take the car back saying government would be ill-advised to receive this vehicle. The reality of the matter is Thabane Knew for sure that such a vehicle wont be accepted. He was just purporting to be somebody who can save Taxpayers Money. He promised to use cheap vehicles once in power but he competely did the opposite. Look at the Lexus Model he is using now. Before the end of this year we are likely to see Ministers in another Luxurious Cars.He used to complain about huge Cabinet during Dr. Mosisili’ Regime, we thought he would reduce Ministers but he increased the number by 9 if not 10. He complained that Mosisili is using Foreign Lawyers who cost gorvenment huge Monies but we saw him yesrterday using Foreign Lawyers. Ntate Thabane is running the affairs of this country completely contary to his empty promises. He is indeed playing cheap politics but D-Day for him is approaching.
