The ideas that led to the Civil War were fomenting long before it took place. The anti-federalists like Patrick Henry and Thomas Jefferson vs. the Federalists like Hamilton... Hamilton wanted a central bank with all authority resting on the shoulders of the king in DC and the powers behind the throne in the bank of England.
