The ignorance is really getting tiresome. Serving this country has always been a path to citizenship - a fast track, actually, compared to what most immigrants face in the process. This isnt anything new except the military is taking advantage of an existing policy. But lets get hysterical about ileagals. There is a significant number of Mexican immigrants who have fought (and died) in Iraq and Afghanistan. This country has won more than one war using foreign conscripts. Lets dont pretend this is anything new. Apparently, West is upset over news that the military is expanding its Military Accessions Vital to National Interest program to include those that are eligible for the Deferred Action for Child Arrivals. DACA was approved by Obama in 2012 and allows immigrants without legal status, who were brought to this country before the age of 16 and meet certain other requirements, to have the threat of deportation reprieved for two years. Currently, applications for reprieve under DACA can be renewed after the two-year period is up. The Department of Homeland Security approves DACA applications and a thorough background check is done. [p] Is this not treason? .. I think it is.
