The illusory, egoic idea that one is a completely separate entity, independent from all other separate entities, is in no way the same as saying that there are distinct individuals on a certain level. The human body/mind organism is beautifully and divinely expressing its individuality through its particular form, but it is in no way separate from other body/minds nor from the ground of all body/minds. This is just as every branch is an outward reaching extension of the tree to which it is attached. Each branch must have and does have a very sensitive and living and vibrant connection to the tree and yet is also an individual branch. It is both the tree and the branch at the same time, simultaneously. One does not nullify the other nor is one incompatible with the other. It is the same with the individual fingers of a hand and the two hands of a body. Fingers have a vital and living connection to one another and to the entire hand and the hands to the entire body. The point, which must be made and is sometimes overlooked, is that individuation is not separation. Acknowledging diversity in no way subtracts from the oneness of all that is.
