The impact that Stuart Scott had on pop culture, specifically - TopicsExpress

The impact that Stuart Scott had on pop culture, specifically bridging the gap between hip hop and sports, is undeniable and with that he effectively change the game of sports broadcasting. When you have 2 NFL playoff games, 6 NBA games giving a moment of silence and rival networks showing respect with tributes your impact is on another level. The raw emotion on live air of Rich Eisen, Hannah Storm, Trey Wingo and Scott Van Pelt to name a few when speaking of him was heart wrenching to watch. He made sports cool and embraced a culture that had little representation before him. One of my favorite moments of yesterday was when Eisen told a story from the 90s about Scott asking him what he was quoting in a segment and he said Seinfeld to which Scott replied man, brothas dont watch Seinfeld. I had to laugh because I was guilty saying that exact same line to Dawn Mentel-Koster and Brian McGuinness on several occasions (I was a Martin fan). lol Bottom line is he related to me and I could relate to him but beyond that his swag transcended to any and everyone who watched regardless of color or gender. The world in general lost another amazing human being to a vicious and unforgiving disease and it wont be the same without him. Rest In Peace Stuart Scott and may sports always be as cool as the other side of all of our pillows just like you were! #ripStuartScott
